The mosaic was found a few meters beneath a row of vines a week after work resumed after the corona virus pandemic. Ancient Roman mosaic floor discovered under vines in Italy- ” Pristine archaeological treasure near verona date 3rd century AD”.
According to Archaeology the discovery in 1922 the site was mostly left and after the team returned to the site in October and again in February before the excavation was suspended because of the corona virus outbreak. Archeologists it came almost a century after the remains of a villa to date 3rd century AD in a hilly area above the town of Negrar di valpolicella.

As a authority the seven travertine slabs were found 2.5 metres beneath piazza della Rotonda. Although sinkholes are a common problem in Rome and square was empty at the time the pavement collapsed in April.

On the local authorities the Mayor of Negrar di Valpolicella – they will find a way to make this treasure enjoyable and cultural site coming back to life. Local authorities are working with the lands owners to make the site accessible to the public.
This cultural sites[ Italy] coming back with the name of the Archeological park of Pompeii reopening with security measures in place. The Colosseum will reopen on 1 June with visitor to buy tickets online and the entrance price has reduced to €5 but some security measures in place including temperature checks before entering and wear face masks.
